What does out-of-network mean?

“Out-of-network” is how insurance companies describe professionals who have chosen not to be paneled by them, or chosen not to be “in their network”. Everyone has out-of-network benefits, and you can find out what yours are by calling your insurance company. Typically, they cover a percentage of our rates.

What is EMdr?

You can find a whole page devoted to EMDR here. Short version: it’s a high impact, effective form of therapy that we use to help people resolve intense or specific trauma.

how long does therapy take?

It’s hard to say how long therapy can take. That’s like asking how long you need to see a personal trainer to get muscles. It depends on how many muscles you want and how much work you put in!

Why aren’t you in network with my insurance?

There are a few reasons, which you can read more about here. The gist of it is that insurance companies have rules about how often we can see you and how long sessions can be. We think that it's important for you and your therapist to determine that.

is emdr researched?

Yes! Very researched! Check out just some of the research here

will what i say be kept private?

Absolutely. We take confidentiality very seriously, to the extent that, if we see you in public, we’ll let you say hi first just in case you aren’t comfortable with explaining how you know us to whomever you are with. It seems extreme, but it’s important to us that you have the freedom to disclose what you want, to who you want, when you want to.
